2010 Leuka Mini Masters celebrity golf tournament

On 16 July, at London’s Dukes Meadows Golf Club, a whole host of our favourite celebs put on their best golfing gear and knocked some white balls around in the name of charity, and it was all sponsored by Bing.

Hugh Grant at the 2010 Leuka Mini Masters golf tournament Hugh Grant, Rob Brydon, Phil Glenister, Tim Henman and James Nesbitt were among the stars at the charity event organised by Dougray Scott to raise money for leukaemia research organisation Leuka.

The annual event, now in its third year, has been described by Scott as a “summer garden party with live music and golf”.

Tim Henman plays golf at the 2010 Leuka Mini Masters tournament On the day, former tennis ace Tim Henman humorously admitted that he ‘prefers hitting golf balls to tennis balls’, and Hugh Grant somewhat immodestly claimed he is ‘fabulous’ at golf. Hmm, don’t give up the day job, Hugh!

However, comedian Rob Brydon didn’t have any trouble owning up to his shortcomings – on his Twitter page he later admitted he played “brilliantly badly”. At least he’s honest…

The guests at the event who weren’t playing the game were treated to the gourmet barbecue, complimentary drinks from the many on-course bars and live music from the Jagermeister rock stage. All proceeds, of course, went to charity,
