Peter Andre has just given his first interview since his split from Katie Price, on Radio 1’s Chris Moyles show, admitting the break-up has been “the worst few months” of his life.
“I’m not gonna lie. I’m absolutely gutted,” the singer said. “Look… she’s the mother of my children and there’ll always be love… I don’t know what to say.”
Peter told Chris he didn’t leave Katie on a whim, but refused to slag off his estranged wife, explaining his children were probably listening to the interview. “There’s a lot to it. I definitely knew what I had to do. I’m obviously never mentioning the reasons, but there’s not just one reason,” he said.
When Chris asked if there was a chance the couple might reconcile, Peter said there was “no way”. “What’s done is done, you know? Let’s not forget that there are far bigger problems in the world. But when you are in your own situation it feels like the biggest problem in the world. The hardest bit of all of this is the acceptance and when you can accept it then you can move forward. I’m just going through the acceptance bit now.”
Radio 1 then gave the first play of Peter’s new single, Behind Closed Doors, released on August 10.
Wow, so I have a few days off to go to Glastonbury and the biggest entertainer on the planet dies, aged just 50. Unbelievable.
I bought tickets to one of Michael’s O2 Arena dates and was really looking forward to seeing him, as I saw him live in Australia in 1996 and it was by far the best concert I’ve ever been to. I’d gone in with high expectations but he completely blew me away.
I’ll keep on top of the story of his untimely death as it develops – the latest news is that pills have been seized from Michael’s mansion, and that his mother has been granted temporary custody of his three children.
Meanwhile, we’ve compiled celebrity tributes to Jacko, led by Madonna who said she “can’t stop crying over the sad news”. We’ve also got his life in pictures, starting out as an 11-year-old in the Jackson 5.
Michael led a largely unhappy life – including a tempestuous relationship with his father and, in his adult life, allegations of child abuse – but in turn he brought happiness to millions. There will never be another like him.
Rachel Hunter has been dumped by her fiancé less than two months before they were due to get married, reports The Sun.
The model had been set to marry Canadian ice hockey star Jarret Stoll – who, at 27, is nearly 13 years her junior – in August. But the tabloid reports that Stoll left the 39-year-old with no explanation, and emailed guests, including Michelle Pfeiffer and Sharon Stone, to announce the wedding was off.
Rachel was married to Rod Stewart in the nineties and they have two teenage children together. They remain close and Rod has reportedly been helping his ex-wife recover from the split. He married Penny Lancaster in 2007 and the pair have a three-year-old son.
Rachel and Jarret had lived together in a £2.2 million in LA, and she had previously insisted she wasn’t worried about the age gap: “It obviously isn’t an issue for us because we wouldn’t be getting married if it was a problem. Of course you talk about it but it was a very easy conversation.”
Peter Andre has used his column in New! magazine to admit he’s still in love with Katie Price, as she parties with a group of scantily-clad guys and girls in Ibiza.
“Of course I still love Kate – if you get over someone in five weeks, then you obviously didn’t love them,” Peter wrote, adding that his children are his main concern. “There are only three people that are my priority – the kids.”
Harvey, Junior and Princess are currently holidaying in Cyprus with their Peter and his mother, who flew over from Australia to comfort her son.
Katie, meanwhile, is letting her hair down in the Spanish isle, partying in an array of skimpy outfits as she does her best to forget about her estranged husband. Kate has also altered a tattoo of Peter’s name on her wrist, covering it with a large cross.

Chris Brown appeared in court on June 22 and pleaded guilty to assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna, which likely spared him jail time.
The 20-year-old singer will be sentenced to five years probation and 180 days community service, expected to include picking up rubbish and graffiti removal. He must also complete a year of domestic violence classes and pay a fine.
Had Chris pleaded not guilty, he could have faced four years imprisonment for the assault, which took place in February after the couple attended a pre-Grammys party together. There was uproar earlier this year after a photo of Rihanna’s battered face was leaked by someone inside the LAPD.
Chris was also ordered to keep at least 50 yards away from Rihanna, except at industry events such as award ceremonies, where the distance is reduced to 10 yards. He is also banned from phoning, texting or emailing his ex.
Rihanna was in the courtroom but, due to the guilty plea, she did not have to face questioning.
Brown’s formal sentencing is scheduled to take place on August 5.
Four-year-old Mercy, the latest edition to Madonna’s ever growing family, was reunited with her new mum in London over the weekend.
The star’s second child from Malawi – she adopted David Banda in 2006 – flew the 6,000 miles to the UK in a private jet accompanied by a nanny, child nurse and third aide, reports PA.
According to the Daily Mail, Mercy spent her first few hours with Madonna at London’s Kabbalah Centre along with new siblings Lourdes, Rocco and David. The star’s ex-husband Guy Ritchie also popped by to meet the new addition to the family.
Eventually Mercy will make her home at Madonna’s new £25million townhouse in New York’s Upper East Side.

Lindsay Lohan has once again hit the headlines for the wrong reasons, after jewellery went missing from a London photo shoot.
The jewellery, including a diamond necklace and earrings worth £250,000, went missing from an Elle magazine shoot in Islington on June 6, where the 22-year-old star modelled the gems.
The Sun reports that Dior bosses are livid as the jewellery was made especially for the fashion shoot, and now several people present at the shoot, Lindsay included, could face questioning. “There have been no arrests at this stage. We will speak to a number of people in connection with the inquiry,” a Scotland Yard spokesperson confirmed.
Do you remember when Li-Lo used to be known for her films? That seems like such a distant memory.
Katie Price and Peter Andre’s split may have come as a shock to some, and not so much to others.
The news may not have been such a surprise to avid fans of their reality TV show Katie and Peter: Stateside, where in one of the last filmed episodes together, the pair were seen to have an intense argument, with Katie telling Peter: “I’m miserable with you”.
Now, the new shock to hit us all, according to reports, is speculation that each star will feature in a rival reality show on ITV, both of which will last throughout the separation. Peter’s spokeswoman Claire Powell admitted: “We’ve already filming the show,” as Peter was accompanied by a camera crew when he attended the International Indian Film Academy Awards in China last week.
Controversially, Katie’s spokeswoman Diana Colbert told the BBC “Katie hasn’t signed a new contract” and an ITV spokesman couldn’t confirm either series as ITV “are talking to both of them about future plans”.
