Over a year after ending her disastrous relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, and after weeks of rumours, it’s finally been confirmed – Britney Spears is in a new relationship.
The lucky man is her long-time agent, Jason Trawick. And, thankfully, Papa Spears approves.
The star was photographed with Jason (and her two sons) on holiday in the Bahamas in May, but her camp denied they were anything more than friends. But now a source close to the family has spoken to People magazine. "They are totally and definitely dating," the insider said. "Her dad loves him. He’s the best thing that happened to her."
"They’re very sweet together," the source continued. "He makes Britney really happy, and he’s great with the boys." Jason has been Britney’s agent since May 2008 and is credited with helping her get her career back on track following her breakdown. The 37-year-old also guides the careers of Paris Hilton and Hilary Duff.
Britney plays London’s O2 Arena tonight.
Madonna looks set to be granted permission to adopt a Malawian girl, after taking her case to the country’s Supreme Court of Appeal.
The star’s attempts to adopt four-year-old Mercy James were blocked by a judge in April, due to a rule which states that potential adoptive parents need to have lived in the country for 18 months.
Madonna left the Malawi devastated after losing her bid, but went straight to her lawyers to launch an appeal. And now it seems she has got her way – according to a PA report, two of the three appeal judges have stated the adoption should be allowed to take place and Malawi’s Supreme Court of Appeal will announce the ruling on Sunday.
If so, Mercy will start a new life in New York, alongside Madonna’s other adopted child, David Banda, also from Malawi, and biological children Lourdes and Rocco.
After following ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson around London last week, it seems that Lindsay Lohan’s persistence has finally paid off – she and Sam have reunited and flew back to Los Angeles together on Monday.
The pair were photographed together at Heathrow on Monday as Lindsay posted a message on Twitter, hinting they were back together: “Leaving London but with my favorite favorite travel buddy & great news to share!! Maybe…. ;)”
But Lindsay’s UK trip didn’t start out so well – Sam initially rebuffed the star’s attempts to get in touch and, according to the Daily Mail, even made a quick exit from a club at the weekend after Lindsay turned up unexpectedly.
According to the newspaper, Lindsay arrived at Bungalow 8 where her ex was enjoying an evening out with brother Mark Ronson. But as soon as she made her presence known, Sam ditched the club and returned to her hotel, Blakes at Kensington, keen to avoid any contact. But in the early hours of the morning, persistent Lindsay was then photographed arriving at Blakes.
Thankfully for Lindsay, Sam seems to have relented and the on-off couple are back on, for now at least.
Peter Andre’s personal life may be a mess, but his career is on the up – it’s been reported that the Aussie star will perform for the Queen at this year’s Royal Variety Performance! Pete’s apparently been invited to sing tracks from his new album, which he recently recorded in Los Angeles.
Meanwhile, Peter has used his column in New! magazine to refute claims he has already met another woman since splitting with Katie Price in May.
“Apparently, I’ve got one woman out in Cyprus, another in Los Angeles and I’m even supposed to be involved with a member of staff,” Peter wrote. “I can hold my head up high and say I’ve been 100 percent faithful throughout my marriage and still am, and any reports suggesting otherwise are totally hurtful and false.”
He continued: “It’s really important to me, though, that people know I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to leave on a whim. My children have always been the most important thing in my life and they always will be.”
Katie Price seems to already be putting the split behind her – or at least that’s what she wants us to believe: “Everyone deals with breakups in different ways and my way is to just keep going and not think about it,” the glamour model wrote in her column for OK! magazine. “I’m just focusing on my kids and my friends.”
Roll out the red carpet on Downing Street as there could well be a new Prime Minister in town. Over 100,000 MSN readers voted for their choice to lead the country, with Simon Cowell clinching 21% of the online electorate. However, the poll on MSN Entertainment was not quite a landslide victory for Simon, as the absolutely fabulous Joanna Lumley secured 20% of the vote.
Responding to the news, Joanna said: "I am so touched I can’t tell you but strangely the answer is no. I have had a look close up at what MPs do, the responsibility on their shoulders and how hard all of them, no matter which party they are in, no matter what position they’ve got, they work absolutely ceaselessly".
With expenses revelations rocking Westminster, David Cameron calling for a snap general election and Esther Rantzen threatening to wade into the political ring, it may well be a good time to abandon party politics altogether and give the British public what it seems to want. If Arnold Schwarzenegger can be Governor of California then why not Simon Cowell at No.10 Downing Street?
I also think that third placed Sir Trevor McDonald (17%) would make a good PM. However, it seems that super-chef Delia Smith failed to convince the public of her leadership qualities, finishing last with a measly 1% (1,015) of votes, while the middle ground was fought out between mountain-climbing Radio One DJ Chris Moyles (9%), controversial comedian Russell Brand (8%), and pop princess Cheryl Cole (8%).

Simon Cowell’s ex-girlfriend has been attacked by an angry fan.
Terri Seymour was leaving a taping of American Idol when a woman approached and demanded to know if she was dating Cowell.
According to reports, the suspect then grabbed Terri and allegedly attempted to choke her. Security guards alerted police who took the woman into custody. The Los Angeles Police Department has since confirmed that 33-year-old Janice Thibodeaux is being held on $52,700 bail.
Terri refused medical treatment and was escorted home by police officers.
She and Simon split in November after a six-year relationship but are still very close.
Peter Andre has used his column in New! magazine to slam rumours that his split from Katie Price is a publicity stunt.
Writing from Cyprus where he is spending time with his brothers, Pete said: "I would like to take this opportunity to set the record straight about one thing. You may have read or heard that this is a publicity stunt, but I can assure you it’s not. How anyone could think I would pretend to split up from my wife to grab headlines is beyond me. It’s just sick."
Pete seemed to hint that the pair might reconcile when he wrote: "Everything is up in the air at the moment but I am writing this from Cyprus as I came here to get away and spend some time with my family."
Both Katie and Peter are expected to return to London on Thursday to discuss custody arrangements for their three children. The glamour model has been in the Maldives with Junior and Princess since the split.
The man photographed partying with Katie Price in a club in Bristol last Friday night has revealed he is gay.
It’s thought the photos, published in The Sun, were the last straw for Peter Andre, who left his wife on Monday May 11. He had previously admitted he didn’t trust Katie when she was drinking.
Top dressage rider Spencer Wilton has spoken out to dispel reports that Katie, a keen horse rider, had been up to anything untoward. "A big group of us had all been at Badminton Horse Trials for the day and went out for dinner afterwards and then on to a club,” Wilton told Horse and Hound magazine. "They [the tabloids] know exactly who I am and have chosen to ignore that and the fact that I’m already in a happy relationship with a male partner. My phone hasn’t stopped with papers and magazines calling, but it’s obviously a lot worse for Katie – I just really hope she and Peter are able to resolve their differences."
Peter Andre and Katie Price are to separate after three and a half years of marriage.
The split was confirmed in a statement from their management, Can Associates Limited, who also asked that the media respect their privacy at this difficult time.
The couple’s constant squabbling has been there for all to see on their successful ITV2 series Katie & Peter, but the shock still comes as a massive surprise.
Pictures in The Sun on Monday showed Katie flashing her chest while surrounded by men on a solo night out at Bristol club Syndicate recently, and Peter has made no secret of the fact that he worries about his wife’s drinking.
Late last night Katie released the following statement, confirming that it was Peter who initiated the split: “Pete is the love of my life and my life. We have children together and I am devastated and disappointed by his decision to separate and divorce me, as I married him for life. This is not what I want and the decision has been taken out of my hands. I will not comment further or do any interviews regarding the separation, but I will always love my Pete.”
Katie has temporarily left the country with her two youngest children – Junior, three, and Princess, one. Six-year-old Harvey, her son from a previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke, is being cared for by a nanny.
We recently spoke to Katie and Peter and asked them about rumours of a marriage split. Here’s what they had to say
