The unlikely star of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, Susan Boyle, has smashed all previous first-week debut album sales with her first release.
The Scottish singer who has fans everywhere from the UK to America has sold 410,000 copies of I Dreamed A Dream, her debut effort, in the first week. Not only that, but she beat the likes of Queen, Black Eyed Peas and JLS to the top of the charts.
The 48-year-old singing sensation’s first single is a cover of Rolling Stone’s hit Wild Horses, and reached number 9 in the charts last week.
Simon Cowell, the man responsible for her discovery, has said of her success: "I’m incredibly proud of Susan as well as being delighted for her. The success could not not have happened to a lovelier person. She did it her way and made a dream come true.”
Well done SuBo!
